Sportique

Sportique Case Study

76,000+ SKUs Managed.

Most agencies fall apart past a few hundred SKUs. We've run Sportique's catalog, bulk listing creation, attribute updates, and account health, at a large scale.

Overview

On Amazon, Sportique operates primarily as a premium boutique storefront under the Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry master category. It serves as a multi-brand retailer carrying subcategories like Men’s and Women’s Fashion, Eyewear, and Luxury Watches.

At this scale, catalog management is not simply about adding or editing listings. It means keeping thousands of products correctly structured, accurately represented, operationally active, and compliant while new listings, product updates, and account-health issues continue to flow through the account.

We have supported Sportique’s Amazon operations for 1+ year, managing high-volume catalog work alongside ongoing account health and issue resolution.

The Scale Problem

A catalog this size doesn't have "a few issues to fix." It has continuous operational load across every function at once:

Listing creation at volume

New products and variation families need to be created efficiently through bulk inventory files rather than handled one SKU at a time. At this scale, the challenge is not simply creating listings, it is preparing the flat file correctly, mapping the correct fields, validating the data, and getting the updates processed without creating new catalog issues, and most importantly doing a large amount of work in a shorter time span.

Product Attribute Accuracy at Volume

Sportique sells products from many different brands and manufacturers, which means product-level information must remain accurate across a large number of ASINs. Brand, manufacturer, UPC/GTIN, size, color, model, and other category-specific attributes may need to be corrected or updated when Amazon’s catalog data does not accurately reflect the product.

These changes can require more than a simple edit, particularly when multiple sellers contribute information to the same detail page. We manage the update process, provide supporting documentation when required, and follow cases through until the requested correction is actually resolved

Continuous Violation Exposure

With 76,000+ active SKUs, policy and catalog issues are an ongoing operational stream rather than occasional exceptions. Content violations, image issues, intellectual-property complaints, restricted-product violations, suppressions, and removals need to be identified, prioritized, and worked through systematically.

Compounding risk:

At this scale, a catalog update can affect hundreds of products at once. A mistake in a bulk file can create a much larger problem than a single listing error, which makes validation and controlled execution critical before every major upload.

This is the environment we operated in for Sportique - at scale, continuously, and across multiple functions at the same time.

What We Managed

Bulk Listing & Variation Creation

We create and update listings at scale using Amazon inventory files, including parent-child variations and bulk product updates. Each upload is mapped to the appropriate category template, reviewed before submission, and monitored after upload to identify errors or incomplete processing. The goal is simple: move large volumes of catalog work through Amazon without sacrificing accuracy.

Attribute & Content Updates

In a multi-brand catalog, product data has to accurately represent the products being sold.

  • We managed and corrected product-level attributes such as brand, manufacturer, UPC/GTIN, size, color, model, and other category-specific fields, using the appropriate Seller Central workflow or bulk inventory feed depending on the change.

  • When Amazon requires supporting evidence or does not apply the requested correction, we handle the documentation, case submission, follow-up, and escalation needed to get the catalog data resolved. This keeps the catalog aligned with the actual products Sportique sells,  across tens of thousands of ASINs.

Account Health Management

Account health issues are continuous at this level of catalog activity. We monitor and work through listing suppressions, removals, policy violations, restricted-product issues, image-related violations, intellectual-property complaints, and other enforcement actions, prioritizing issues according to their impact on account standing and business.

Listing Reinstatement

When products are removed or suppressed, restoring them requires more than simply submitting a generic appeal. We identify the reason for enforcement, determine what Amazon requires for reinstatement, make the necessary listing corrections, prepare supporting documentation where applicable, and manage the case through resolution. Across Sportique’s catalog, this has included reinstatement work across multiple violation and enforcement types.

Seller Support Cases

Some catalog and account issues cannot be resolved through standard listing edits alone. When an issue requires Amazon intervention, we manage the escalation through case logs, live chat, and direct communication with Amazon Support, keeping ownership of the issue from the initial submission through to a resolution. The objective is not to open more cases. It is to get the underlying issue resolved and keep the catalog moving.

Case Studies - Account Health Recovery

Case Study 1 - From At Risk to Healthy

Sportique’s account was facing significant policy exposure, including 36 Restricted Product Policy Violations related to knives and other restricted category listings.

The account’s Account Health Rating was 64, which Amazon displayed as Unhealthy.

We worked through the restricted products, reducing the violations from 36 to 5.

The account moved from Unhealthy to Healthy.

Case Study 2 - From Low to a Perfect Rating

Later, as catalog activity continued, Sportique again had a significant number of open policy violations.

Account Health Rating: 224
Total Open Violations: 135

We worked through the outstanding issues and reduced total open violations to 41, while bringing the Account Health Rating to:

224 → 1,000

That represents a reduction of approximately 70% in total open violations.

Key Recovery Metrics

Account Health Rating: 224 → 1,000
Total Open Violations: 135 → 41
Open Violations Reduced: ~70%

The second recovery also shows substantial reductions across several violation categories, including suspected intellectual-property violations, customer complaints, food and product safety issues, listing policy violations, and restricted-product

What the Results Show

Sportique operates a 76,000+ SKU catalog, so new listings, catalog updates, and policy issues continue to enter the account over time.

Our role is to continuously: Identify → Prioritize → Correct → Escalate → Resolve → Monitor

The two documented recovery cycles demonstrate our ability to work through substantial violation backlogs, address high-risk policy issues, and restore account health while the underlying catalog continues to operate.

The Outcome

76,000+ SKUs managed continuously for over a year. Hundreds of suppressed listings reinstated across multiple violation types. Thousands of listings and variations created with flat files across multiple categories.

Sportique’s catalog didn’t get “fixed and left alone” –  it’s actively managed, every day, at a volume where most agencies would either slow down the business or lose control of compliance entirely. We’ve done neither.

76k+ SKUs Require More Than Basic Catalog Management.

We manage the operational complexity so your Amazon catalog can keep moving.
